The South East Europe Media Organisation condenms a new attack against a journalist in Russia.

Unknown persons attacked Dmitry Kosenko from Vash Golos news near his newsroom in Tuapse on Friday evening.

Kosenko worked in an investigation late last year about corruption involving the family of a local politician.

The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) condemned today several threats made against journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH).

Adnan Jašarspahić, owner of the online portal Visoko.co.ba received threats on social media.

Journalist Milkica Milojević, from the daily EuroBlic in Banja Luka received threats over phone.

Some days ago, Marko Radoja, editor-in-chief of news service of the Public Service Broadcaster of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) received a letter with threats to his life.

As the Vienna South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) was informed today, reporters at N1 Belgrade received on Monday a threatening letter which said that their office would be blown up and their families murdered.

“Do you have families… you’re killing our children and grandchildren, and you’re not aware that if it comes to that, your building will be the first to be blown up, and you may even lose the ones closest to you. That’s why we, the veterans, are warning you not to play with others’ fates, because your fate is in our hands,” the letter said. The letter was signed “Belgrade Veterans of 1999 War.” The leader of the association, Zeljko Vukelic, said to N1 the organisation had nothing to do with the incident, and called on police to fully investigate the threats received by N1.

Balkan Insight reported that earlier on February 4, President Aleksandar Vučić told to Happy TV that “authorities are being attacked by N1 television 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as by many weekly newspapers and other media.”

M. G. and B. P. were arrested after a attack on local journalist Marko Aćimović.

The South East Europe Media Organisation condenms verbal threats against journalist Ada Borowicz. “The reporter should be raped”, was one of the threats. Borowicz published the story of an attack on a woman in Italy. According to right extremist in Poland, Borowicz’s ‘crime’, was to have published the report without referring to the fact the attackers were alleged to have been migrants.

The Souht East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) welcoms the police action in Serbia which has led to the arrest of the alleged instigator of the arson attack against journalist Milan Jovanović.

Dragoljub Simonović, President of Grocka municipality and member of the leading political party in Serbia, was arrested as suspected of ordering the arson attack on the house of Milan Jovanović, a correspondent of the news portal Žig info. This follows the arrest of three additional persons for this crime in December of last year.

The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO)= condemns verbal insults against Dražen Krušelj journalist working for Jutarnji list in Zagreb. The insult came from the selector of Croatian handball team in a TV program after the match Croatia- France.

The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) condemns the today attacks on reporters and photojournalists by extremist groups in Athens during a protest.

Thomas Iacobi, working for La Croix from France, was attacked while covering the protest connected to the name change deal with the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Iacobi is co-authors of Golden Dawn: a Personal Case, a documentary about the Golden Dawn far-right political party.

Additional photojournalist Kostis Ntantamis, a freelance photographer working for the Russian state TV Sputnik, suffered serious head injuries during the protest.

Also Albania TV correspondent Artur Bibe was attacked during his live transmission on the Top Channel, Attacked was also CNN freelancer Lefteris Partseris.

The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) condemns the today physical attack against a journalist in Skopje During an event organised by the Orthodox church in the city centre of Skopje, Mirjana Mircevska-Jovanović, working for Kanal 5, was assaulted while carrying out her work. She was attacled by security guards after attempting to pose questions to a participant at the event.
