Kadri Gürsel, born 1961, journalist and columnist from Turkey is the winner of the SEEMO Human Rights Award 2017.

Gürsel started working in 1986. He was journalist in Yeni Gündem (newspaper was closed in 1988), Günes, Cumhuriyet and Sabah. He worked from 1993-1997 as Agence French-Presse (AFP ) correspondent for Istanbul. In March 1995, while working as AFP correspondent, he was kidnapped for 26 days by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). He started to work for the Milliyet newspaper group in 1997. He worked as foreign news desk editor in Milliyet from 1999–2008

In October 2016 Gürsel and his colleagues from Cumhuriyet newspaper were taken into custody for allegedly being linked to terror groups . An Istanbul court ordered the release of Gürsel on 25 September 2017. In 2019, Gürsel started a political show on Medyascope (political news on YouTube).
