The South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) was dismayed to learn that Dzeljalj Beljulji, owner of the TV station Spektri, was threatened on 29 April in Bujanovac.
According to his brother and co-owner of the station Nedzad Beljulji, the attack happened in a local coffee shop, after unidentified men called Beljulji. He suggested they should come and speak to him. Once they arrived, it was evident that this was the president of the Albanian national Council Jonuz Musliu and his sons. After stating their displeasure about TV Spektri reporting on Jonuz and his activities, the men made provocations towards a physical confrontation, but Beljulji managed to avoid it. He later gave a statement in the police headquarters, despite not having reported the incident himself. Beljulji added that they made several threats, including that he and his brother should be “careful about their writing”, since they “do not know what can happen to them”.
