Abdulkadir Turay, a reporter for the now-defunct Dicle News Agency (DİHA) , was arrested on 9 May 2016 and charged with aiding and abetting a terrorist organisation.
According to information form BIANET he appeared in March 2023 before the administration and observation Board. The board decided to extend his imprisonment with three months.
Turay was among several persons arrested 2016 under suspicion of terrorism. He was sentenced to nine years in prison by 2nd High Court in Mardin, Turkey.
DIHA was one of the media shut down by the authorities after the July 2016 coup d’état attempt . DİHA started to work in April 2002.
