International Media Center - IMC (Internacionalni medijski center -  IMC)

has its headquarter in Vienna and an education center in Slovenia (in Portoroz, a town on Slovenian Adriatic Coast). Additional education centers as part of IMC should be open in the next years in other countries in South, East and Central Europe.  President of IMC Slovenia is Prof. Marko Miosavljevic from  Ljubljana University. President of the Board is Prof. Thomas Bauer from University in Vienna. The IMC has been established for improving and enhancing media competence (professional quality of active journalists,stimulative reference for students o journalism, public relations, media and communication management, media education) in  Central, Southeast Europe, as also in the Mediterranian region.

The  IMC is  an institutional framework for seminars and workshops in upgrading media knowledge and competence addressing professionals in journalism, public relations or other media fields. It also offers an opportunity for journalists, media owners and managers to discuss current topical issues regarding their relationship.

The IMC gives the opportunity for analysing and exchanging views on current topics regarding media and the work of journalists in various situations, legal position of media, press freedom and media management.

The International Media Center in Slovenia has been already given support by Slovenian Ministry of Culture and by various international institutions and personalities.


International Media Center in Slovenia got with a kind cooperation of Mayor of Piran office and conference space at Portoroz Auditorium. The IMC started cooperation with different Institutions in Europe.
